Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl?

Let's go!!

I said a 1,2,3, take my hand and come with me
'Cause you look so fine
And I really wanna make you mine.

I said you look so fine
And I really wanna make you mine.

Oh, 4,5,6 come on and get your kicks
Now you dont need that money
When you look like that, do ya honey?

Big black boots,
Long brown hair,
She's so sweet
With her get back stare.

Well I could take,
You home with me,
But you were with another man, yeah!
I know we ain't got, much to say,
Before I let you get away, yeah!
I said, are you gonna be my girl?

Well, so 1,2,3, take my hand and come with me
Because you look so fine
And I really wanna make you mine.

I said you look so fine
And I really wanna make you mine.

Oh, 4,5,6 come on and get your kicks
Now you dont need that money
With a face like that, do ya...

Big black boots,
Long brown hair,
She's so sweet
With her get back stare.

Well I could see,
You home with me,
But you were with another man, yeah!
I know we ain't got, much to say,
Before I let you get away, yeah!
I said, are you gonna be my girl?

Oh Yeah
Oh Yeah
C'mon
I could see,
You home with me,
But you were with another man, yeah!
I know we, ain't got much to say,
Before I let you get away, yeah!
Uh, be my girl.
Be my girl.
Are you gonna be my girl? Yeah!

Coldplay - The Scientist

Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are

I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I've set you apart

Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let's go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on the science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Oh tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I’m going back to the start

Foo Fighters join Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder onstage in Seattle

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Pat Smear joined Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder onstage in Seattle for an impromptu collaboration earlier this week (April 27).

The trio appeared during the encore at Mike Watt & The Missingmen's gig at the city's Triple Door venue - scroll down and click below for fan footage of the hook up.

During a ten-minute session, the grunge veterans performed a version of Watt's 1995 track 'Big Train', with Grohl playing drums, Smear on guitar and Vedder adding guitar and vocals.

Watt is known for co-founding US punks Minutemen, dos, and fIREHOSE. He has also been the bassist in the reunited Stooges in recent years.

Smear recently recorded his first album with Foo Fighters, 'Wasting Light', having rejoined on a live basis in 2006. He had earlier played guitar on the band's 1997 album 'The Colour And The Shape'.

The Germs founder also performed live with Grohl during the later days of Nirvana in the early 1990s.

City Reign

The song writing pair Chris Bull (Vocals/Guitar) and Michael Grice (Guitar) met four years ago at a Ryan Adams concert, having both recently moved north from London. Having spent years writing and playing in bands going nowhere, the two met Michael Glaze (Bass) and Sam Jones (Drums) to complete the new line up. The band took the name from the Adams song, ‘City Rain, City Streets’.

The band spent some time building up a back catalogue, and gigging themselves into a tightlive unit. They have since set up their own indie label ‘Car Boot Records’, and released debut single ‘Making Plans’ in September 2010.

The band released follow up single “Out in the cold” 31st January 2011. The song received great praise amongst the bloggers online and press.

City Reign will release 3rd single “Daybreak” on May 9th on their independent label Car Boot Records. ‘Daybreak’ has long been a fan favourite, its original recording being the title track of the band’s early demo, The Daybreak EP recorded with Grammy nominated producer Dan Parry. The band have since chopped down the song’s lengthy outro, leaving the punchy pop classic on the current record.

Their DIY approach has proved successful so far, as the band have won plaudits from the likes of Steve Lamacq (who featured the band in a special about the 2010 In The City Festival), The Independent, and music industry bible Music Weekly, who featured the band amongst the best new acts coming out of Manchester.

If you like Oasis, The Smiths or The Beatles, you should definitely listen to this amazing band!

The Wombats - Let's Dance To Joy Divison

I'm back in Liverpool
and everything seems the same
but I worked something out last night
that changed this little boy's brain
a small piece of advice that took 22 years in the make
and i will break it for you now
please learn from my mistakes
please learn from my mistakes

let's dance to joy division
and celebrate the irony
everything is going wrong
but we're so happy

let's dance to joy division
and raise our glass to the ceiling
'cos this could all go so wrong
but we're just so happy
yeah, we're so happy

so if you're ever feeling down
grab your purse and take a taxi
to the darkest side of town
that's where we'll be
and we will wait for you
and lead you through the dancefloor
up to the dj booth
you know what to ask for
you know what to ask for

go ask for joy division
and celebrate the irony
everything is going wrong
but we're so happy

let's dance to joy divison
and raise your glass to the ceiling
cos this could all go so wrong
but we're so happy
(yeah, we're so happy)

let the love tear us apart
I found the cure for a broken heart
let it tear us apart

let the love tear us apart
I found the cure for a broken heart
let it tear us apart

so let the love tear us apart
I found the cure for a broken heart
let it tear us apart

so let the love tear us apart
I found the cure for a broken heart
let it tear us apart
let it tear us apart
let it tear us apart

let's dance to joy division
and celebrate the irony
everything is going wrong
but we're so happy

let's dance to joy division
and raise our glass to the ceiling
cos this could all go so wrong
but we're so happy
yeah, we're so happy

so happy, yeah, we're so happy
so happy, yeah, we're so happy

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know it's been coming for some time

When it's over so they say
It'll rain on a sunny day
I know shinning down like water

I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day

Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know, been that way for all my time

'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle of fast and slow
I know it can't stop, I wonder

I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day

I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day

Kasabian to release 'epic' new album in October

Kasabian will release their new album in October, a record label spokesperson for the band has said.

Although the album is still being finished and is currently untitled, the spokesperson said that plans to release it have now been put in place.

"They're mixing it," the Sony/BMG rep told Thisisleicestershire.co.uk, as well as revealing the October release plan. It is believed that the rockers have been working with producer Dan The Automator on the record, and have been recording in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno described the sound of the record by saying he thinks the band have bettered their last album, 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum'.

"Well, it's epic," he claimed. "It's big songs that make you feel like anything's possible. It's a really positive record. I suppose it's a combination of all three records but we've just taken it a bit further."

He added: "I'm really excited about it, because after the last record, people really liked it and wanted to know what was next, and I'm happy to say that it's got better. I'm excited about playing it live – there are tunes on there that are going to take people to a new place."

Bright Eyes - First Day Of My Life

This is the first day of my life
I Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain
Suddenly everything changed
They're spreadin' blankets on the beach

Yours is the first face that I saw
I Think I was blind before I met you
I don't know where I am
I don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go
So I thought I'd let you know
That these things take forever
I especially am slow
But I realized that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

I remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange
You said everything changed
You felt as if you just woke up
And you said,
This is the first day of my life,
I'm Glad I didn't die before I met you
But now I don't care I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy.

So if you wanna be with me
With these things there's no telling
We'll just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery

Besides maybe this time it's different
I mean I really think you like me...

Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.

It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).

Hey, you know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, so don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough for someone else.

It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).

Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on.
Just do your best, do everything you can.
And don't you worry what the bitter hearts are gonna say.

It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).
It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).

Red Hot Chili Peppers to release new album in August

Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer Chad Smith said in an interview that the band will release their upcoming album during the last week of August. You can watch the full interview below.

Noel Gallagher in talks to write Manchester City's FA Cup Final song

Noel Gallagher has hinted that he's going to write Manchester City's FA Cup Final charity song.

The former Oasis leader said the Eastlands club called him recently to "bounce a few ideas" off him about a "Band Aid-style" tune.

"If they asked seriously I don’t know. Let’s wait till they ask," the guitarist told the Daily Star Sunday.

The newspaper quoted a City 'source' who said having Gallagher involved in the song would make "a lot of sense".

Ex-Smiths and Cribs guitarist Johnny Marr and former boxer Ricky Hatton are among the other Blues thought to be in line to appear on the track.

City's opponents in the May 15 Wembley Stadium showpiece Stoke City are also apparently in talks with Tom Jones to sing their own ditty.

The Potters want the Welsh singer to revamp his 1968 track 'Delilah, which is a favourite among their fans.

A spokesman for the club commented: "The song is sung by supporters at every game, home and away, and in particular when we score a goal."

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel like my only friend
Is the city I live in, the city of angels
Lonely as I am, together we cry

I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy
I never worried, now that is a lie

I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way

It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe that I'm all alone
At least I have her love, the city she loves me
Lonely as I am, together we cry

I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
I don't ever wanna feel like I did that day
Take me to the place I love, take me all the way

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away

Eddie Vedder - Society

It's a mistery to me
we have a greed
with which we have agreed

You think you have to want
more than you need
until you have it all you won't be free

society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me

When you want more than you have
you think you need
and when you think more than you want
your thoughts begin to bleed

I think I need to find a bigger place
'cos when you have more than you think
you need more space

society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me

there's those thinking more or less less is more
but if less is more how you're keeping score?
Means for every point you make
your level drops
kinda like its starting from the top
you can't do that...

society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me

society, have mercy on me
I hope you're not angry if I disagree
society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me

Green Day - Holiday

Say, hey!

Hear the sound of the falling rain
Coming down like an Armageddon flame (Hey!)
The shame
The ones who died without a name

Hear the dogs howling out of key
To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (Hey!)
And bleed, the company lost the war today

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

Hear the drum pounding out of time
Another protester has crossed the line (Hey!)
To find, the money's on the other side

Can I get another Amen? (Amen!)
There's a flag wrapped around a score of men (Hey!)
A gag, a plastic bag on a monument

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

(Hey!)
(Say, hey!)

(3,4)

"The representative from California has the floor"

Sieg Heil to the president Gasman
Bombs away is your punishment
Pulverize the Eiffel towers
Who criticize your government
Bang bang goes the broken glass and
Kill all the fags that don't agree
Trials by fire, setting fire
Is not a way that's meant for me
Just cause, just cause, because we're outlaws yeah!

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives

This is our lives on holiday

Semisonic - Closing Time

Closing time
Open all the doors and let you out into the world
Closing time
Turn all of the lights on over every boy and every
girl
Closing time
One last call for alcohol so finish your whiskey or
beer
Closing time
You don't have to go home but you can't stay here

I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home

Closing time
Time for you to go out to the places you will be from
Closing time
This room won't be open till your brothers or your
sisters come
So gather up your jackets, move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend
Closing time
Every new beginning comes from some other
beginning's end

I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home

Closing time
Time for you to go out to the places you will be from

I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home

I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home

Closing time
Every new beginning comes from some other
beginning's end

Phosphorescent

Phosphorescent is the working moniker of American multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Matthew Houck. Originally from Alabama, Houck began recording and performing under this name in 2001 in Athens, Georgia. He is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
Before recording under the name Phosphorescent, Matthew Houck traveled the world playing under the moniker Fillup Shack and self-released a limited pressing of the album Hipolit in 2000. Houck later changed his recording name to Phosphorescent, and released the full-length LP “A Hundred Times or More” in 2003. Notably, in the liner notes of “A Hundred Times or More”, Fillup Shack is credited with the drum recordings. The album was released through Athens-based independent label Warm Records. The following year, he released the EP “The Weight of Flight”.
Phosphorescent rose to wider critical acclaim after releasing “Aw Come Aw Wry” in August 2005 and “Pride” in October 2007. The latter was named the 12th best album of 2007 by Stylus Magazine and received a 8.0 rating from indie website Pitchfork Media. In 2009, inspired by Willie Nelson's tribute album to Lefty Frizzell “To Lefty From Willie”, Houck crafted a tribute album to Nelson himself entitled, To Willie which was released through Dead Oceans. Phosphorescent released “Here's to Taking It Easy” in 2010.

Social Distortion - Story Of My Life

Well, High school seemed like such a blur,
I didn't have much interest in sports or school elections.
And in class I dreamed all day, 'bout a rock 'n' roll weekend.

And the girl in the front of the room,
So close yet so far y'know she never seemed to notice,
That this silly school-boy crush wasn't just pretend.

Life goes by so fast, you only want to do what you think is right.
Close your eyes and then it's past - story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.

And I went down to my old neighborhood,
The faces have all changed, there's no one left to talk to.
And the pool hall I loved as a kid is now a 8-11.

I went downtown to look for a job,
I had no training, no experience to speak of.
I looked at the holes in my jeans and turned and headed back.

Life goes by so fast, you only want to do what you think is right.
Close your eyes and then it's past - story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.

Good times come and good times go,
I only wish the good times would last a little longer.
I think about the good times we had and why they had to end.

So I sit at the edge of my bed,
I strum my guitar and I sing an Outlaw love song.
Thinkin' bout what you're doin' now and when you're comin' back.

Life goes by so fast, you only want to do what you think is right.
Close your eyes and then it's past - story of my life.

Story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.
Story of my life.

Elbow - Lippy Kids

Lippy kids on the corner again
Lippy kids on the corner begin
Settling like crows
Though I never perfected the simian stroll
The cigarettes and it was everything then

Do they know those days are golden?
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!

One long June
I came down from the trees
and kerbstone cool
You were a freshly painted angel
Walking on walls
Stealing booze and hour long hungry kisses
And nobody knew me at home anymore

Build a rocket boys!
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!

Lippy kids on the corner again
Lippy kids on the corner begin
Settling like crows
And I never effected that simian stroll
No

Do they know those days are golden?
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!

One long June
I came down from the trees
And kerbstone cool
You were a freshly painted angel
Walking on walls
Stealing booze and hour long hungry kisses
And nobody knows me at home anymore

Build a rocket boys!
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!

Rancid - Ruby Soho

Echoes of reggae comin' through my bedroom wall
havin' a party up next door but i'm sittin here all alone
two lovers in the bedroom and the other started to shout
all i got is this blank stare and that don't carry no clout at all

Destination unknown
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
He's singin and she's there to lend a hand
he's seen his name on the marquee but she will never understand
once again he's leavin' and she's there with a tear in her eye
embraces with a warm gesture it's time, time to say goodbye

Ruby's heart ain't beatin cause she knows the feelin' is gone
she's not the only one who knew there's somethin' wrong
her lover's in the distance as she wipes a tear from her eye
ruby's fading out, she disappears, it's time, time to say goodbye

Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho

Destination unknown (Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho)
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho

Nickelback - Burn In To The Ground

Well it's midnight, damn right, we're wound up too tight
I got a fist full of whiskey, the bottle just bit me
Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh
That shit makes me bat shit crazy
We got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything we want
Drink everything in sight
We'll go until the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh

We're screaming like demons, swinging from the ceiling
I got a fist full of fifties, tequila just hit me
Ooooohhhhh
We got no class, no taste, no shirt, and shit faced
We got'em lined up, shot down, firing back straight crown

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything we want
Drink everything in sight
We'll go until the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh

Ticking like a time bomb, drinking till the night's gone
Well get you hands off of this glass, last call my ass
Well no chains, no lock, and this train won't stop
We got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything we want
Drink everything in sight
We'll go until the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh
We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything we want
Drink everything in sight
We'll go until the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight

The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection

Down down, you bring me down
I hear you knocking down my door and I can't sleep at night
Your face, it has no place
No room for you inside my house I need to be alone

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do

Turn turn, I wish you'd learn
There's a time and place for everything I've got to get it through
Cut loose, cause you're no use
I couldn't stand another second in your company

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do

Stone me, why can't you see
You're a no-one nowhere washed up baby who'd look better dead

Your tongue is far too long
I don't like the way it sucks and slurps upon my every word

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do

I am the resurrection and I am the light
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like

I am the resurrection and I am the light
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like

Foo Fighters - The Pretender

Keep you in the dark
You know they all pretend
Keep you in the dark
And so it all began

Send in your skeletons
Sing as their bones go marching in... again
The need you buried deep
The secrets that you keep are ever ready
Are you ready?
I'm finished making sense
Done pleading ignorance
That whole defense

Spinning infinity, boy
The wheel is spinning me
It's never-ending, never-ending
Same old story

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?

In time or so I'm told
I'm just another soul for sale... oh, well
The page is out of print
We are not permanent
We're temporary, temporary
Same old story

I'm the voice inside your head
You refuse to hear
I'm the face that you have to face
Mirrored in your stare
I'm what's left, I'm what's right
I'm the enemy
I'm the hand that will take you down
Bring you to your knees

So who are you?
Yeah, who are you?
Yeah, who are you?
Yeah, who are you?

Keep you in the dark
You know they all pretend

What if I say I'm not like the others?
(Keep you in the dark)
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
(You know they all... pretend)
You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?

So who are you?
Yeah, who are you?
Yeah, who are you?

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers – Mary Jane’s Last Dance

She grew up in an Indiana town,
Had a good-lookin' mama who never was around.
But she grew up tall and she grew up right
With them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights.

Well, she moved down here at the age of eighteen.
She blew the boys away, was more than they'd seen.
I was introduced and we both started groovin'.
I said, "I dig you baby, but I got to keep movin' on.
Keep movin' on."

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

Well, I don't know, but I've been told,
You never slow down, you never grow old.
I'm tired of screwin' up, tired of going down,
Tired of myself, tired of this town.

Oh, my, my. Oh, hell, yes.
Honey, put on that party dress.
Buy me a drink, sing me a song.
Take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long.

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

There's pigeons down on Market Square.
She's standin' in her underwear,
Lookin' down from a hotel room.
Nightfall will be comin' soon.

Oh, my, my. Oh, hell, yes.
You got to put on that party dress.
It was too cold to cry when I woke up alone.
I hit my last number and walked to the road.

Last dance with Mary Jane, one more time to kill the pain.
I feel summer creepin' in and I'm tired of this town again.

Tom Hanks producing Green Day "American Idiot" movie

Green Day's 2004 album 'American Idiot' has been given the green light to be adapted into a full-length movie.

Reuters is reporting that Univsersal have officially hired Tom Hanks to produce the forthcoming adaptation in collaboration with Green Day themselves.

As previously reported, the band and their label had been in negotiations about a possible big-screen adaptation, following the success of the 'American Idiot' Broadway musical, directed by Michael Mayer.

Online reports confirm that Mayer will once again be in the director's chair for the movie, and that the team are in talks with 'Milk' writer Dustin Lance Black to pen the screenplay.

Band Of Horses - The Funeral

I'm coming up only to hold you under
I'm coming up only to show you wrong
And to know you is hard; we wonder
To know you all wrong; we warn.

Really too late to call,
So we wait for morning to wake you
That's all we got
And to know me as hardly golden
Is to know me all wrong, they warn.

At every occasion, I'll be ready for the funeral
At every occasion, once more, is called the funeral
Every occasion, know I'm ready for the funeral
At every occasion, oh, one million day funeral

I'm coming up only to show you down,
For I'm coming up only to show you wrong.

To the outside: the dead leaves, they're on the lawn
For they don't have trees to hang their own.

The Black Keys - Tighten Up

I wanted love, I needed love,
Most of all, most of all
Someone said true love was dead
And I'm bound to fall, bound to fall
For you
Oh, what can I do?

Take my badge but my heart remains
Lovin' you, baby child
Tighten up on your reigns
You're runnin' wild, runnin' wild
It's true

Sick for days in so many ways
I'm achin' now, I'm achin' now
It's times like these I need relief
Please show me how, oh show me how
To get right
Yes outside

When I was young and moving fast
Nothing slowed me down, slowed me down
Now I let the others pass
I've come around, oh come around
Cause I've found

Living just to keep going
Going just to be sane
All the while I know it
Such a shame

I don't need to get steady
I know just how I feel
Telling you to get ready
My dear

Arctic Monkeys - Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair (audio and lyrics)

Arctic Monkeys released a few moments ago the new single taken from the upcoming album "Suck It And See". This song is called "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" and you can listen to it here: http://www.arcticmonkeys.com/

Lyrics (there may be some mistakes):

Break a mirror, roll the dice
Run with scissors through a chip pan fire fight
go into business with a grizzly bear
but just don't sit down cause i've moved your chair

find a well known hardmanand start a fight
wear your shell suit on bonfire night

Fit a circular Hole with a peg that's square
but just don't sit down cause I moved your chair

bite the lightning and tell me how it tastes
kung-fu fighting on your rollerskates
do the macarena in the devil's lair
but just don't sit down cause i've moved your chair

The Hours - Ali In The Jungle

It's, not, how you start, it's how you finish,
And it's, not, where you're from, it's where you're at

Everybody gets knocked down,
Everybody gets knocked down,
How quick are you gonna' get up?
How quick are you gonna' get up?

Everybody gets knocked down,
Everybody gets knocked down,
How quick are you gonna' get up?
Just how are you gonna' get up?

Like Ali in the jungle,
Like Nelson in jail,
Like Simpson on the mountain,
With odds like that, they were bound to fail

Like Keller in the darkness,
Like Adam's in the dock,
Like Ludwig Van, how I loved that man,
Well the guy went deaf and didn't give a fuck, no...

No, no, no

It's, not, where you are, It's where you're going,
Where are you going?
And it's, not, about the things you've done, it's what you're doing, now,
What are you doing, now?

Everybody gets knocked down,
Everybody gets knocked down,
How quick are you gonna' get up?
How quick are you gonna' get up, now?

Everybody gets knocked down,
Everybody gets knocked down,
How quick are you gonna' get up?
Just how are you gonna' get up?

Like Ali in the jungle,
Like Nelson in jail,
Like Simpson on the mountain,
Well with odds like that, they were bound to fail

Like Keller in the darkness,
Like Adam's in the dock,
Like Ludwig Van, how I loved that man,
Well the guy went deaf and didn't give a fuck, no...

Oooh, ooh, ooh
No, no, no
Oooh, ooh, ooh
No, no, no
Oooh, ooh, ooh

It's the greatest comeback since Lazarus,
The greatest comeback since Lazarus,
It's the greatest comeback since Lazarus,
The greatest comeback since Lazarus,
It's the greatest comeback since Lazarus,
The greatest comeback since Lazarus,
The greatest comeback since Lazarus,
The greatest comeback...
It's the greatest comeback...

(Radio Commentator) This, is the most joyous scene, ever seen in the history of boxing,
this is an incredible scene, the place is going wild, Muhammed Ali has won,
Muhammed Ali has won, by a knockdown! By a knockdown!
The thing they said was impossible, he's done!

Bob Dylan plays his first gig in Vietnam

Dylan played a concert in Ho Chi Minh City - formerly Saigon - on Sunday evening.

Dylan, 69, jammed on stage playing guitar, harmonica and keyboard and singing hits including A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall and Highway 61 Revisited.

During the time of the Vietnam conflict, many of Dylan's protest songs defined the mood of a generation, with young Americans marching for peace followed by similar protests in the UK and other western countries.

Around half of the 8,000 seats at RMIT University were sold, to a mix of Vietnamese and foreigners, Associated Press reported.

Correspondents say many in youthful Vietnam have never heard of the man who wrote Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They Are A Changing.

About half of Vietnam's 87 million people are under 30, with no memory of the years of war with the US.
But Dylan remains important to those who were living in the country at the time.
"Bob Dylan's music opened up a path where music was used as a weapon to oppose the war in Vietnam and fight injustice and racism," Tran Long An, 67, vice-president of the Vietnam Composers' Association told AP.

"That was the big thing that he has done for music."

Another concert-goer said Dylan's music was a source of hope during the war.

"We listened to anything that spoke of peace. We called him the peace poet," said Stan Karber, 60, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, who served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 and has lived in Ho Chi Minh City for the past 15 years.

Big-name concerts are still rare in Vietnam and the Communist government maintains a strict control over what is said in public.

Dylan's song list had to be approved in advance by the government, although the concert's promoter Rod Quinton said no restrictions had been imposed.

The concert forms part of the musician's Asia-Pacific tour, marking 50 years since his first major performance.

He played in Shanghai on Friday after his debut China gig in Beijing on Wednesday.

After reportedly banning a concert by Dylan last year, Beijing agreed he could perform if his songs were vetted by censors.

The authorities have been wary of foreign performers, particularly since the Icelandic singer Bjork signalled her support for Tibetan independence at a concert in Shanghai in 2008.

Bob Dylan's two gigs had to be approved by the national ministry of culture and officials said the singer would have to abide by an agreed playlist.

The move was criticised by Human Rights Watch in the US, which said "Dylan should be ashamed of himself".

Brad Adams, executive director of the organisation's Asia division also said: "He has a historic chance to communicate a message of freedom and hope, but instead he is allowing censors to choose his playlist."

Villagers - Becoming A Jackal

The most familiar rose
Every implement was leading to you
And your homely sense of dissaray
Never once the same
Always rearranged
But things would never change
In the seam between the window frame
Where the jackals preyed on every soul
Where they tied you to a pole
And stripped you of your clothes

I was a dreamer staring out windows
Out onto the main street
Cause that's where the dream goes

And each time they found fresh meat to chew
I would turn away and return to you
You would offer me your unmade bed
Feed me till I'm fed
And read me till I'm read

But when the morning came
You would catch me at the window again
In an eyes wide open sleeping state
Staring into space
With no look upon my face

I was a dreamer staring out windows
Out onto the main street
Cause that's where the dream goes

And when I got older when I grew older
Out onto the streets I flew
Released from your shackles
I danced with the Jackals
And learned a new way to move
So before you take this song as truth
You should wonder what I'm taking from you
How I benefit from you being here
Lending me your ears
While I'm selling you my fears

I was a dreamer
I'm selling you my fears
Staring out windows
I'm selling you my fears
Out onto the main street
I'm selling you my fears
Cause that's where the dream goes
I'm selling you

I was a dreamer staring out windows
Out onto the main street
Cause that's where the dream goes
