[Review] Social Distortion – Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes (2011)

Sete anos depois do último álbum, “Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll”, os Social Distortion voltam ao activo. E não podiam ter regressado de uma maneira melhor. “Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes”, lançado através da Epitaph Records, é o regresso aos grandes álbuns dos Social Distortion e, apesar de ter sido lançado em Janeiro, é bem provável que vá fazer parte das listas dos melhores álbuns de 2011, no fim do ano.

O cartão de visita para este magnífico álbum é a música instrumental “Road Zombie”, seguida de uma grande música rock, “California (Hustle And Flow)”. Seguidamente vêm aquelas que provavelmente são as duas mais belas músicas deste álbum: “Gimme The Sweet And Lowdown” e “Diamond In The Rough”.

“Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes” demonstra que os Social Distortion não são apenas uma banda punk, são acima de tudo uma grande banda rock, que apesar de já não ser propriamente nova, se consegue ir renovando fazendo grandes álbuns, sendo este possivelmente o melhor de sempre, de uma carreira com cerca de 30 anos.

Bem assim como o início deste álbum, também o fim não podia ser melhor, com a grande “Still Alive”.

É caso para dizer, os Social Distortion ainda estão vivos e recomendam-se.
