Thom Yorke confirms Radiohead will tour in 2012

Thom Yorke has confirmed that Radiohead will be touring in 2012.

The band, who announced two shows in New York yesterday (September 20), have so far only played one live show, which consisted of a secret show at Glastonbury, in support of their new album 'The King Of Limbs'.

But speaking to BBC Radio 1's Giles Peterson, Yorke confirmed that the band would be touring, saying: "The idea is to go out and play next year on and off during the year."

The singer also indicated that Portishead's Clive Deamer, who played with the band during their Glastonbury set, would be part of the touring band.

Kasabian, Noel Gallagher and Radiohead named early favourites for 2012 Mercury Prize

Kasabian, Noel Gallagher and Radiohead have been named as early favourites for the 2012 Mercury Prize by bookmakers.

William Hill has published an extremely early list of potential nominees for the prize in 2012, with the Leicester band's fourth album 'Velociraptor!' named as the favourite, just ahead of the former Oasis man's solo debut 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds'.

Other artists named with short odds are Florence And The Machine, whose second album is due in November, Coldplay's fifth album 'Mylo Xyloto' and Mumford and Sons' forthcoming second album.

Radiohead are also ranked third favourites at 8/1, despite having only released their latest studio album 'The King Of Limbs' earlier this year and strong rumours that they will be touring in the coming months rather than recording new material.

PJ Harvey won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize for a second time on Tuesday night (September 6), taking the £20,000 cheque for her album 'Let England Shake'.

The odds for the Mercury Prize in 2012 are as follows:

Kasabian (7/1)
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (8/1)
Radiohead (8/1)
Ed Sheeran (10/1)
Florence And The Machine (10/1)
Coldplay (12/1)
Mumford & Sons (16/1)
Rizzle Kicks (20/1)
Example (20/1)
Calvin Harris (20/1)
Wretch 32 (25/1)
Laura Marling (25/1)
Miles Kane (25/1)
Elbow (33/1)
All The Young (33/1)
Jessie J (33/1)
Professor Green (50/1)
Hard-Fi (66/1)
Charlie Simpson (80/1)

Radiohead - Karma Police

Karma police, arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio

Karma police, arrest this girl
Her Hitler hairdo is
Making me feel ill
And we have crashed her party

This is what you get
This is what you get
This is what you get when you mess with us

Karma police
I've given all I can
It's not enough
I've given all I can
But we're still on the payroll

This is what you get
This is what you get
This is what you get when you mess with us

And for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself
Phew, for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself

For for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself
Phew, for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself

Radiohead play ‘surprise’ Glastonbury show with sixth member

Radiohead played a 'surprise' show at Glastonbury festival tonight (June 24), billed as ‘special guests’ on The Park stage.

Playing on the same stage frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist Johnny Greenwood performed an unannounced set on at the festival last year, the band were joined by an extra live member, Clive Deamer, who played as a second drummer.

The gig was Radiohead’s first full band show in the UK since 2009, and was only confirmed this morning. Thousands flocked to The Park for the show, forcing staff to cut off access to the area as it reached capacity.

Arriving onstage just after 8pm (BST), Yorke addressed the crowd by saying: “Hello, we're called Radiohead. We're going to try and do some ’Kings Of Limbs’ and shit. We're still trying to figure out how to get people to sing along. Help us out.”

The band then played a set which leant heavily on their new LP ’The King Of Limbs’, with six tracks from that album aired, as well as 'Staircase', which they performed online last week. In terms of their pre-'In Rainbows' material, only 'I Might Be Wrong' and ’Street Spirit (Fade Out)’ were aired.
Yorke told the crowd that the band had only performed “so we could get free tickets” and thanked festival chiefs Michael and Emily Eavis a number of times. He dedicated 'The Daily Mail' to “all mellow, liberal, right-thinking people in the UK”.

Radiohead played:

'Lotus Flower'
'15 Step'
'Morning Mr Magpie'
'Little By Little'
'All I Need'
'Separator'
'Give Up The Ghost'
'Arpeggi'
'Staircase'
'I Might Be Wrong'
'Bloom'
'Reckoner'
'The Daily Mail'
'Street Spirit (Fade Out)'

Radiohead confirmed to play Glastonbury Park Stage at 8pm tonight (June 24)

It's now official - Radiohead are set to return to Glastonbury as the secret act on the Park stage today (Friday 24 June).

Some "special guests" are listed as set to play there at 8pm (BST) - and the Oxfordshire quintet's spokesperson has confirmed that it is Thom Yorke and co who will be performing.

Last year, to mark the 40th Anniversary of the festival, Yorke and Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood surprised everyone with a secret spot on Park Stage, resulting in a completely packed field.

It seems as if this year's booking was a rather last-minute affair. Speaking to NME on Tuesday (June 20) festival organiser Emily Eavis said: “We are still unsure of exactly who is turning up, mainly because it's unconfirmed at the moment! I swear I have heard every rumour – even that Led Zeppelin are playing!"

The performance will mark Radiohead's fifth Glastonbury appearance, including the secret gig from the duo. The band made their Glastonbury début in 1994, before returning for their monumental headline gig in 1997, often voted Glastonbury's greatest set. Radiohead returned to headline in 2003, sharing top billing with their good friends REM.

Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

Her green plastic watering can
For her fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself

It wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out

She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins

It wears him out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wears him out

She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run

It wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out

If I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted all the time

All the time...
All the time...

[Review] Radiohead - The King Of Limbs (English)

"The King Of Limbs" was announced about a week ago and, after a long week for fans of Radiohead, it is finally available online.
Although this waiting, I think anyone who likes this band will be a little disappointed with this album, which is far from the level of other Radiohead albums.

The first song, "Bloom”, isn’t definitely a good choice to start. Then come, "Morning Mr. Magpie" and "Little By Little", which is probably the best song on this album.
Then come “Lotus Flower”, the first song on this album to be revealed and a song that is in the same level as "Little By Little", "Codex”, a really calm and beautiful song, and "Give Up The Ghost. "
Finally comes "Separator" that, like "Bloom", which wasn’t a good song to start, wasn’t a good choice to finish this album.

After all, I think this album is good, although it’s far from the level of other albums of this British band.

7/10

[Review] Radiohead - The King Of Limbs (Português)

“The King Of Limbs” foi anunciado há cerca de uma semana e, depois de uma longa semana para os fans dos Radiohead, finalmente está disponível online.
Apesar desta espera, penso que quem gosta desta banda vai ficar um pouco desiludido com esta álbum, que está longe do nível de outros dos Radiohead.

A primeira música, “Bloom”, não foi definitivamente uma boa escolha para começar. De seguida vêm, “Morning Mr. Magpie” e “Little By Little”, que é provavelmente a melhor música deste álbum.
