Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has said he believes that the band's new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has "changed" the band's sound a lot.
Klinghoffer replaced longtime player John Frusciante in 2009 and has made his debut with the band on their new album 'I'm With You', which was released on Monday (August 29).
The drummer said that though he considered Frusciante to be "one of the best musicians I've ever played with", he believes that Klinghoffer's arrival has brought about positive change within the band.
He told Spinner: "It's different. We love John Frusciante and we're so grateful to what he has given us in this band. He's written some of the best parts of our biggest songs and he's just a great, great musician. Probably one of the best musicians I've ever played with. We're all very grateful for what he gave to the band."
He continued: "Having Josh come in, he's such a great musician. He's so well rounded. He plays many instruments and writes great. We're just so lucky to find someone right in our backyard. It has to be different. And that's something that helped us grow and change, having the voice that he brings with his musicality to our group. He changed our sound a lot. But also, everybody else changed, too. And that's just keeping things fresh."
I know its not your time yet but I see you coming over the hill
Blaming everything on me is that the way you get your kicks and you thrills
You should spare a little time for your mind and then your body and soul
You act a little crazy but I know you got it under control
This is me trying to be kind I want you to know
This whole banging on the roof and stamping on the floors getting old
Lets come to an agreement there's no need to get the police involved
A minor little headache can be cured by a little resolve
And this is me trying to be kind I want you to know
You seem to pardon all my favours now
SOMETIMES!
I'm a sober boy, your a lonely girl
So lets give it up and stay out of each others worlds
Is there any need in bringing in the butchers for a bit of a scare
I've had so many hidings in this city that they stopped being rare
And this is me trying to be kind I want you to know
You seem to pardon all my favours now
SOMETIMES!
I'm a sober boy, your a lonely girl
So lets give it up and stay out of each others worlds
Lets make our peace, stand in one line
Or hold on to these, grudges for time
I'm a sober boy, your a lonely girl
so lets give it up and stop living in each others worlds
I'm a sober boy, your a lonely girl
So lets give it up and stop caring about this wicked girl
The track is the second to emerge from the guitarist's solo album, which is due for release on October 17, and follows the release of his first single 'The Death Of You And Me', which charted at Number Nine in the UK singles chart on Sunday (August 28).
The album, which features a number of tracks that were written during his years as a member of Oasis, will be released through Gallagher's own Sour Mash Records.
The LP was recorded over the past year in London and Los Angeles with producer Dave Sardy.
A second album, recorded with psychedelic collective Amorphous Androgynous, is due to come out sometime in 2012.
I won't let you fall, as low as I been
I promise to crawl until I'm back on my feet
If something went wrong, just think of me
If something went wrong, don't you know I'd be here
So who's been unfair, Who causes you sorrow?
And who's been unkind, Who burst you bubble?
And who drags you down, down, down, down?
Who handed out lights?
And now I'm in trouble
I won't let you fall, As low as I been
I promise to crawl, Until I'm back on my feet
If something went wrong, just think of me
If something went wrong, don't you know I'd be here
Are you going to live your life wondering
Standing in the back, looking around
Are you going to waste your time thinking
How you've grown up or how you missed out
Things are never going be the way you want
Where's it going to get you acting serious
Things are never going to be quite what you want
Even at twenty-five you got to start sometime
I'm on my feet
I'm on the floor
I'm good to go
And all I need is just to hear a song I know
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine
I wanna fall in love tonight
Are you going to live your life
Standing in the back, looking around
Are you going to waste your time
Oughta make a move or you'll miss out
Someone's going to ask you what it's all about
Stick around, nostalgia won't let you down
Someone's going to ask you what it's all about
What are you going to have to say for yourself
I'm on my feet
I'm on the floor
I'm good to go
And all I need is just to hear a song I know
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine
I wanna fall in love tonight
Crimson and clover
Over and over
Crimson and clover
Over and over
Our house in the middle of the street
Why did we ever meet
Started my rock 'n' roll fantasy
Don't don't, don't let's start
Why did we ever part
Kick start my rock 'n' rollin' heart
I'm on my feet
I'm on the floor
I'm good to go
So come on Davey, sing me something that I know
I want to always feel like part of this was mine
I want to fall in love tonight
You don't know
I wanna fall in love tonight
You don't know
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine
I wanna fall in love tonight
I wanna fall in love tonight
I wanna fall in love tonight
Cradle me
I'll cradle you
I'll win your heart
With a whoop-a-woo
Pulling shapes just for your eyes
So with toothpaste kisses and lines
I'll be yours and you'll be...
Lay with me
I'll lay with you
We'll do the things that lovers do
Put the stars in our eyes
And with heart-shaped bruises
And late-night kisses divine
So with toothpaste kisses and lines
Stay with me
Stay with you
Doing things that lovers do
What else to do?
There I was completely wasting, out of work and down
all inside it's so frustrating as I drift from town to town
feel as though nobody cares if I live or die
so I might as well begin to put some action in my life
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
So much for the golden future, I can't even start
I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart
you don't know what it's like, you don't have a clue
if you did you'd find yourselves doing the same thing too
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
You don't know what it's like
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
The heart is a bloom, shoots up through stony ground
But there's no room, no space to rent in this town
You're out of luck and the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck and you're not movin' anywhere
You thought you’d found a friend to take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand in return for grace
It's a beautiful day,
The sky falls and you feel like
It's a beautiful day,
Don’t let it get away
You’re on the road but you’ve got no destination
You’re in the mud, in the maze of her imagination
You love this town even if that doesn’t ring true
You’ve been all over and it’s been all over you
It's a beautiful day,
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day,
Touch me, take me to that other place
Teach me love, I know I’m not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colours came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
A beautiful day
Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don’t have you don’t need it now
What you don’t know you can feel it somehow
What you don’t have you don’t need it now
Don’t need it now
It was a beautiful day
Sunday nights that you wanna
Black velvet cake
Sweet heart can bargain
Half price mistakes
She will go down with her ship
Like a good captain
You're sitting on the dock
Playing for an audience of one
Pacing your apartment
Linoleum floors
Get a call from an old friend
She never like them before
He will drive all over three lanes
You sit tight, shotgun
When she rifles
Waving for an audience of one
You came out from the country
Wearing momma's clothes
You were born in the city
Daddy's dominos
You need a record you can move to
Well we got one
Drop the needle
We are playing for an audience of one
Drop the needle
We are playing for an audience of one
One gets all of you twos jealous
Three get even less
Four divides you up then you're left
Pleasing all your guests
Reach out you point a finger
And touch the globe
Spin around and where it stops
You've got to pack your bags and go
Land in the Mohave Desert
Sing for the sun
Three's too many when you're playing for an audience of one
Two's too busy when you're playing for an audience of one
One is the only way
Playing for an audience of one
Muse have spoken to NME about their forthcoming performances at this weekend’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The band will be playing their 2001 album 'Origin Of Symmetry' in full at the festival. Matt Bellamy said that one of the reasons they’ve picked that album to play is because "it's always been an album the hardcore fans have always talked about as one of their favourites, if not the favourite. So we wanted to play it for them as a celebration of the 10 years since it came out…"
The band have also promised to bring a brand new stage show and production to the festival, based around the 2001 album’s artwork and concept. "We'll do whatever we can get away with within the restrictions of a festival stage," explained Bellamy.
For the second half of the show, drummer Dom Howard said: "We'll probably just do the old cheap encore and play a few hits!"
The event, which takes place this weekend (August 26-28), features headline sets from Muse, My Chemical Romance and a co-effort from Pulp and The Strokes.
On bended knee is no way to be free
Lifting up an empty cup, I ask silently
All my destinations will accept the one that's me
So I can breathe...
Circles they grow and they swallow people whole
Half their lives they say goodnight to wives they'll never know
A mind full of questions, and a teacher in my soul
And so it goes...
Don't come closer or I'll have to go
Holding me like gravity are places that pull
If ever there was someone to keep me at home
It would be you...
Everyone I come across, in cages they bought
They think of me and my wandering, but I'm never what they thought
I've got my indignation, but I'm pure in all my thoughts
I'm alive...
Wind in my hair, I feel part of everywhere
Underneath my being is a road that disappeared
Late at night I hear the trees, they're singing with the dead
Overhead...
Leave it to me as I find a way to be
Consider me a satellite, forever orbiting
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me
Guaranteed
I live my life walking down this street
I meet the faces of the people I see
All the time I see your reflection
All the time I see your reflection
It's okay to feel alone
It's okay to be alone
All the time I see your reflection
All the time I see your reflection
Cause when I'm with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy
Yeah, I don't like giving up
Cause giving up is easy
And I'll see you again
Just tell me where you'll meet me
When I'm with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy, yeah!
When I'm with you
It seems so easy
It seems so easy
My best days are with you
They are so easy
They are so easy, yeah!
What I've got you've got to give it to your mamma
What I've got you've got to give it to your pappa
What I've got you've got to give it to your daughter
You do a little dance and then you drink a little water
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
Reeling with the feeling don't stop continue
Realize I don't want to be a miser
Confide with sly you'll be the wiser
Young blood is the lovin' upriser
How come everybody wanna keep it like the kaiser
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
I can't tell if I'm a king pin or a pauper
Greedy little people in a sea of distress
Keep your more to receive your less
Unimpressed by material excess
Love is free love me say hell yes
I'm a low brow but I rock a little know how
No time for the piggies or the hoosegow
Get smart get down with the pow wow
Never been a better time than right now
Bob Marley poet and a prophet
Bob Marley taught me how to off it
Bob Marley walkin' like he talk it
Goodness me can't you see I'm gonna cough it
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Ooh... Ooh yeah
Give it away give it away give it away now

I can't tell iff I'm a king pin or a pauper
Lucky me swimmin' in my ability
Dancin' down on life with agility
Come and drink it up from my fertility
Blessed with a bucket of lucky mobility
My mom I love her 'cause she love me
Long gone are the times when she scrub me
Feelin' good my brother gonna hug me
Drinkin' my juice young love chug-a-lug me
There's a river born to be a giver
Keep you warm won't let you shiver
His heart is never gonna wither
Come on everybody time to deliver
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
Give it away give it away give it away now
I can't tell if I'm a king pin or a pauper
What I've got you've got to give it to your mamma
What I've got you've got to give it to your pappa
What I've got you've got to give it to your daughter

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man ?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand ?
Yes, how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
Yes, how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea ?
Yes, how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free ?
Yes, how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky ?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry ?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.
Another secret for ya
I've been told if you want to make it in this game
You got to have the luck
You got to have the look
To make what I quite like to make it through the night
My heart beats slow fast, I dont feel right
With a sleight of hand I might die
What about you over there?
Don't you think I care?
Well I know you know I know you know I know
And to the man who would be king
I would say only one thing
And to the man who would be king
I will say only one thing
la la la-la-la-laa la la la-la-la-laa
I lived my dreams today
And I have lived it yesterday
And I'll have lived it tomorrow
No don't look at me that way
Well I hear the words you say...
But my heart has gone astray
I watched friendship slip away
But it wasn't s'posed to be that way
I lived my dreams today I lived it yesterday
And I'll be living yours tomorrow
Anything else to say?
I lived my dream today I lived it yesterday
And I'll be living yours tomorrow
So don't look at me that way!
What's about you man, Nancy my dear
What's about you man, Nancy my dear
What's about you man, Nancy my dear
What will you do when she comes here?
Oh she'll kill me
Oh, I don't wanna kill me
And to the man who would be king
I would say only one thing
And to the man who would be king
I would say only one thing
la la la-la-la-laa la la la-la-la-laa
Perish the day when they heed what you say
They'll take you away if they don't like what you say
They don't like what you say
You take my life but I'll take yours too
You fire your musket but I run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back.
The bugle sounds - the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As I plunge on into certain death.
O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ohhh!
O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ohhh!
The horse he sweats with fear - we break to run
The mighty roar of the Russian guns
And as we race towards the human wall
The screams of pain as my comrades fall.
We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
And the Russians fire another round
We get so near yet so far away
We won't live to fight another day.
O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ohhh!
O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ohhh!
We get so close near enough to fight
When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds take my horse below.
And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan.
Cold War Kids are an American indie rock band from Long Beach, California. Band members are Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals, keyboards), Matt Maust (bass guitar), and Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion).
Cold War Kids started in 2004 in downtown Fullerton in guitarist/vocalist Jonnie Russell's apartment above a restaurant called Mulberry Street, whose name they would eventually use as the title of their first EP. The band relocated to Whittier, California and began recording their first demos, which Monarchy Music released as the Mulberry Street EP in spring 2005. Between tours, the band released two more EPs: With Our Wallets Full and Up in Rags, in 2006. In summer 2006, Cold War Kids signed to Downtown Records and released their debut LP “Robbers & Cowards” that fall.
The band's second album, “Loyalty to Loyalty”, represented a departure from their debut in featuring a lot of narrative storytelling, as well as political and philosophical references. In an interview with Blackbox Magazine, Nathan described the record as “Being a little darker then the first." "The title, 'Loyalty to Loyalty,' comes from the philosopher Josiah Royce. He said people need to live in community with each other, and he was reacting to Nietzsche who came before him, saying people need to rise above—you need to be the strongest individual you can and rise above the masses. But this guy Josiah Royce is saying that you need to not rise above the masses, that you need to embrace your community. His paper was called 'Loyalty to Loyalty.'”
This year, Cold War Kids released their third album, “Mine Is Yours”.
O, muse,
I'm embarassed,
Of what happened.
Let's light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can't get no satisfaction,
We can't get no satisfaction.
Hurry, hurry, hurry,
Miss contractions.
Let's light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can't get no satisfaction.
'Cause everybody likes to,
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
And everybody likes to,
Clang bells around.
O, muse,
I'm embarassed,
Of what happened.
Let's light up your down,
And get things happening.
We can't get no satisfaction,
We can't get no satisfaction.
'Cause everybody likes to,
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
Hang around,
They like to clang around.
'Cause everybody likes to
Claim things.
And everybody likes to,
Shame things.
And everybody likes to,
Clang bells around.

My face is finished
My body's gone
And I can't help but think
Standing up here in all this applause
And gazing down at all the young and the beautiful
With their questioning eyes
That I must above all things love myself
That I must above all things love myself
That I must above all things love myself
I saw a girl in the crowd
I went over, I shouted out
I asked if I could take her out
But she said that she didn't want to
I changed the sheets on my bed
I combed the hairs across my head
I sucked in my gut and still she said
That she just didn't want to
I read her Eliot, I read her Yeats
I tried my best to stay up late
I fixed the hinges on her gate
But still she just never wanted to
I bought her a dozen snow white doves
I did her dishes in rubber gloves
I called her Honeybee, I called her love
But she just still didn't want to
She just never wants to
DAMN!
I sent her every type of flower
I played her a guitar by the hour
I petted her revolting little Chihuahua
But still she just didn't want to
I wrote a song with a hundred lines
I picked a bunch of dandelions
I walked her through the trembling pines
But she just even then didn't want to
She just never wants to
I thought I'd try another tact
I drank a litre of Cognac
I threw her down upon her back
But she just laughed and said she just didn't want to
I thought I'd have another go
I called her my little ho
I felt like Marcel Marceau must feel
But she said she just never wanted to
She just didn't want to
I've got the No Pussy Blues
I've got the No Pussy Blues
I've got the No Pussy Blues!
DAMN!
No Pussy Blues
I've got the No Pussy Blues
I've got the No Pussy Blues
I've got the No Pussy Blues
Portugal. The Man is an American psychedelic rock band based in Portland, but originally from Wasilla, Alaska. The group released their first two albums with Fearless Records. They also released material on their own imprint Approaching AIRballoons through indie label Equal Vision Records. They signed to Atlantic Records on April 2, 2010.
Portugal. The Man's debut record “Waiter: "You Vultures!"” was released by Fearless Records on January 24, 2006. The album was produced by Casey Bates.
In early 2007, Portugal. The Man self-released a new E.P. entitled “It's Complicated Being a Wizard” on their own label, Approaching AIRballoons.
On June 22, 2007, they released their second full-length, “Church Mouth”, again produced by Casey Bates.
On April 9 Portugal. The Man announced “The Satanic Satanist”, which was released on July 21, 2009. Originally named The Satanic Satanist of the Majestic Majesty, the album title was later shortened and an acoustic counterpart entitled The Majestic Majesty was released. The Satanic Satanist is themed around memories and stories from singer John Gourley's growing up in the state of Alaska. The album was recorded with the help of record producer Paul Q. Kolderie of Pixies and Radiohead fame, and it was the band's first time recording an album with pre-production. The band released the first video from The Satanic Satanist for the track "Do You" on September 17, 2009.
On February 11, 2010, John announced that “American Ghetto”, the bands fifth studio album, would be released on March 2. In order to avoid another leak, virtually no copies of the album were solicited until the release date.
The new album is titled In the Mountain in the Cloud and was released on July 19, this year.
She was a fast machine,
She kept her motor clean,
She was the fastest damn woman that I ever seen,
She had sightless eyes,
Telling me no lies,
Knockin' me out with those American thighs,
Taking more than her share,
Had me fighting for air,
She told me to come, but I was already there,
'Cause the walls started shaking,
The earth was quaking,
My mind was achin',
And we were makin' it and you...
Shook me all night long,
Yeah you, shook me all night long.
Working double time on the seduction line,
She was one of a kind,
She's just mine all mine,
Wanted no applause,
It's just another cause,
Made a meal out of me, and come back for more,
Had to cool me down,
To take another round,
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing
But the walls were shaking,
The earth was quaking,
My mind was aching,
And we were making it and you...
Shook me all night long,
Yeah you, shook me all night long,
Knocked me out, I said you
Shook me all night long,
Had me shaking and you,
Shook me all night long,
Well you shook me,
Well you shook me...
You really shook me and YOU!
Shook me all night long,
Aaaaahaaaahaaaah You...
Shook me all night long,
Yeah yeah you,
Shook me all night long,
You really got me and you,
Shook me all night long,
Yeah you shook me,
Yeah you shook me,
All night long.
Come on baby do you think it's good to feel
Like I'm lying here swimming in memories
I fear God because everything dies babe
Got a gun in the back of my car
A spasm of good sense is making my eye twitch
I've had enough of all your consolation
I'm drowning caught in a shit tide
Tape my face to the inside of love
Nothing to eat but fears in the back seat
Well I've met God and he had nothing to say to me
I pray to God that you're right before my eyes
Bathed in white light with halos in your eyes
Don't wanna waste no more time
Time's what we don't have
Everywhere I look someone dies
Wonder when it's my turn
How well do you know me?
Leave an open door, what you looking for
Babe when you come down?
I built a time machine to escape from
All the pain in the back of my car
Living's a problem because everything dies babe
Save yourself you're not too far away
I pray to God that you're right before my eyes
Bathed in white light with halos in your eyes
Don't wanna waste no more time
Time's what we don't have
Everywhere I look someone dies
Wonder when it's my turn
I knew all along
That I was right at the start
bout the seeds of the weeds
That grew in your heart
Self satisfaction for the factions
Who formed to tear us apart
Well I gave you the Midas touch
Oh you turned round and scratched out my heart
Oh what did you expect?
Oh tell me what did you expect?
To lay it on my head
So is it all upon my head?
Bang bang you're dead
Oh Im so easily lead
Bang bang you're dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you're dead
I knew all along
But I was loathe to believe
There was nothing but spite
Fury and lies
Of the words that you weave
An illusion to a conclusion
And oh its oh so tawdry
When you put it to bed
Kick it in the head
Oh wont they just let it be
Bang bang you're dead
Always so easily lead
Bang bang you're dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you're dead
Oh what did you expect?
Oh tell me what did you expect?
To lay it on my head
So is it all upon my head?
Bang bang you're dead
Always so easily lead
Bang bang you're dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang bang bang you're dead
Mary, this station is playing every sad song
I remember like we were alive
I heard and sung them all from inside of these walls
In a prison cell, where we spent those nights
And they burnt up the diner where I always used to find her
Licking young boys' blood from her claws
And I learned about the blues from this kitten I knew
Her hair was raven and her heart was like a tomb
My heart's like a wound
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my first wife
Everybody leaves and I'd expect as much from you
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my old life
Everybody leaves, so why, why wouldn't you?
Mary, I worried and stalled every night of my life
Better safe than making the party
And I never had a good time, I sat my bedside
With papers and poetry about Estella
With great expectations
We had the greatest expectations
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my first wife
Everybody leaves and I'd expect as much from you
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my old life
Everybody leaves, so why, why wouldn't you?
It's funny how the night moves
Humming a song from 1962
We were always waiting . . . always waiting
We were always waiting for something to happen
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my first wife
Everybody leaves and I'd expect as much from you
I saw tail-lights last night in a dream about my old life
Everybody leaves, so why, why wouldn't you?
Thought that I died today
Walked off the stage
Faded away into the clouds
To the gig in the sky
And when I arrived
The angels were singing a song
Yeah, you know the one
Are you singing along?
Thought I'd know just what to do
That it'd be how I wanted it to be of so new
But counting me in, I had to give in
Make the thunder and lightning sing
In the eye of the storm
There's no right and no wrong
So long, so long
Someday all the world will sing my song
Still life amaze
Somewhere in my heart the beat goes on
Thought it was the end of the world
Deep with guitars and all that I understand is here
Through mental un-word, I'm misunderstood
Wasting my money and fame
I'd throw it away just to prove that I can
I'm the last of a dying breed
And it's not the end of the world, oh no
It's not even the end of the day
So long, so long
Someday all the world will sing my song
Still life amaze
Somewhere in my heart the beat goes on
So long, so long
Someday all the world will sing my song
Still life amaze
Somewhere in my heart the beat goes on
So long, so long
Someday all the world will sing my song
Still life amaze
Somewhere in my heart the beat goes on
Tickets for the first ever run of dates from Noel Gallagher's solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, have sold out in just six minutes.
Going on sale at 9am today (August 5), tickets for the shows in Dublin, Edinburgh, and London, which are set to take place this October, went at lightning pace.
Interestingly, the shows have sold out quicker than the debut tour of his brother Liam's Beady Eye. Tickets for the first six Beady Eye dates last November took half an hour to sell out, reports Contact Music.
I wanna see you in the morning
I wanna see you when the breaking day is dawning
You gotta go you gotta go
It's alright
But I wanna see you in the see you in the light of the morning
And when I get the same reaction
I know this time it's gonna give some satisfaction
You gotta go you gotta go
it's alright
But I wanna see you in the see you in the light of the morning
I wanna see you in the morning
I wanna see you when the breaking day is dawning
You gotta go you gotta go
It's alright
But I wanna see you in the see you in the light of the morning
The Horrors have said that their new album 'Skying' was inspired by "taking loads of pills."
Speaking in this week's issue of NME which is on UK newsstands now or available digitally, bassist Rhys Webb said of the band's chemical indulgences and musical ambitions in the making of their third album:
"It was massively inspired by taking loads of pills, loads of ecstasy. We want to make music that people enjoy and lose themselves in. You can listen in any situation, it can just be waking up in the morning and sticking a record on. It doesn't matter where you are, or what you're doing, the thing we like is trying to take you somewhere else. To remove you from wherever you are."
Culture sucks down words
Itemise loathing and feed yourself smiles
Organise your safe tribal war
Hurt maim kill and enslave the ghetto
Each day living out a lie
Life sold cheaply forever, ever, ever
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Life lies a slow suicide
Orthodox dreams and symbolic myths
From feudal serf to spender
This wonderful world of purchase power
Just like lungs sucking on air
Survivals natural as sorrow, sorrow, sorrow
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
All we want from you are the kicks you've given us
All we want from you are the kicks you've given us
All we want from you are the kicks you've given us
All we want from you are the kicks you've given us
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Drive away and it's the same
Everywhere death row, everyone's a victim
Your joys are counterfeit
This happiness corrupt political shit
Living life like a comatose
Ego loaded and swallow, swallow, swallow
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness everlasting nothingness
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy (poor boy), I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
It's too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the fandango?
Thunderbolts and lightning - very very frightening me
Galileo, Galileo,
Galileo, Galileo,
Galileo Figaro - magnifico-o-o-o
I'm just a poor boy nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
It's the LAW! No - we will not let you go - let him go
It's the LAW! We will not let you go - let him go
It's the LAW! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has the devil put aside for me
for me
for me
for me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters, nothing really matters, to me
Anyway the wind blows...
I won't be scared, I won't defend
The things I've done
I don't need him like you do
I don't fear him like you do
As the world revolves the sun
I hope the light that I become can
Sleep for once
I will leave it like you do
I won't lead it like you do
I won't leave it like they do
I don't need him like they do
I just want to sleep forever
Never see tomorrow
Or lead or follow
I don't want to work forever
Know what I know
Or beg or borrow
Just like our mothers
Who gave us our homes
We'll be just like our fathers
And go out on their own
'Cause we are the colors
Of all that you see
We'll be just like our brothers
And take to the streets
Take to the streets
I just want to sleep forever
Never see tomorrow
Lead or follow
As my world it hides behind
The words only your wars define
They read a lot like news
But I fear it more than you
I fear it more than you
I just want to sleep forever
Never see tomorrow
Or lead or follow
I don't want to work forever
Know what I know
Or beg or borrow
Just like old lovers
Who never leave home
We'll forget the city
And forget the roads
'Cause we are all rebels
Never do what we're told
We may not grow money
But man we grow old
Man we grow old
I just want to sleep forever
Never see tomorrow
Or lead or follow
I don't want to work forever
Know what I know
Or beg or borrow
Just like our mothers
Who gave us our homes
We'll be just like our fathers
And go out on our own
'Cause we are the colors
In all that you see
We'll be just like our brothers
And take to the streets
'Cause we are all children
Yeah, we are all man
It may not be much
But we do what we can
Don't need no preacher
To make us believe
That everything's perfectly
Fucked up like me
The Postelles are an American indie rock band from New York City formed in 2007. Band members Daniel Balk (lead vocals), Billy Cadden (drums), David Dargahi (lead guitar), and John Speyer (bass guitar) met in high school in New York. Their debut album is out on +1 Records since July 7th 2011.
The band garnered early positive reviews from Spin Magazine in 2008 and Rolling Stone who said the band sounded "like the wound-up early hours of what will be a long Saturday night on the town."
They were signed to EMI, but the label dropped the group in 2010. About this situation singer Daniel Balk said: "We feel free to be a band now, we can go into the studio whenever we want instead of needing permission just to be a band.”
In my opinion, this label change was good for the band, because they could record one of the greatest albums of 2011!
