Primal Scream are planning to release a new album next year.
Singer Bobby Gillespie, told NME at the weekend's Bestival on the Isle of Wight, that the band had written a number of songs for a new record which would be the follow up to 2008's 'Beautiful Future'.
Speaking in a video interview, which can be seen above, Gillespie said: "We've recorded some new music, quite a lot of new music actually and written a lot of new music."
He added: "But we've been touring this 'Screamadelica' show for such a long time. We'll continue working on [the new material] until the end of October and the winter. Hopefully we'll have a new Primal Scream album out next year."
When asked about the sound of the new material Gillespie added: "Nothing's finished, it's still a work in progress."
