[Review] Beady Eye - Different Gear, Still Speeding (In English)

The debut album from Beady Eye, "Different Gear, Still Speeding", has been attracting a great curiosity, as is the first album by Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock without Noel.
Some people said that would be much better than any album from Oasis, others said it would be much worse and there were also those who said it would be "more of the same." Well, it’s not better or worse, it’s just different.

The beginning of the album could not be better. "Four Letter Word," a pure rock ‘n’ roll song open hostilities for this album that will undoubtedly be one of the best albums of this year. Then come "Millionaire" and "The Roller", which despite being quieter than the first, are also very good. Highlight especially for "The Roller" for being such a catchy music. Maybe it sounds like John Lennon, but since when is it a problem?

Then comes "Beatles and Stones" and "Wind Up Dream" which, although they’re not bad songs, in my opinion, this is perhaps the least powerful part of this album. However this sequence is immediately followed by three great songs: "Bring The Light", "For Anyone" and "Kill For A Dream." The first of these songs, which was the first released song by Beady Eye, although initially it didn’t arouse great interest on me, it has come to be more than just a good song.
After these three great songs, comes what is probably the greatest moment of the album, alongside "The Beat Goes On," that is "Standing On The Edge Of The Noise". This is undoubtedly a great rock song, with great guitars and a great voice by Liam.

Then follow "Wigwam" and "Three Ring Circus" until there's another great moment on the album, as I mentioned above. "The Beat Goes On" is undoubtedly the best ballad on this disc. This song is just perfect.
Finally, "The Morning Son", with a very interesting letter from Liam. It seems to be written for his brother Noel. It’s good way to close this album.

This was an album that surprised me positively. I expected it to be good, but it is excellent. It has nothing to do with Oasis, but I think the fans will like this band's album. Who doesn’t like Oasis should give a chance to Beady Eye, I guarantee that you will not regret.

9/10
