After a great debut album, "To Lose My Life ', the bar was too high for and White Lies and, although not at the level of the first album, "Ritual" did not disappoint.
The album begins with "Love Is" which, despite being a good opening song, can’t be compared to "Death", the opening song of the previous album and which is probably the best song of White Lies.
Then comes "Strangers", a song that, without a doubt, is one of the best from this band. It is, in my opinion the best song on this album. "Bigger Than Us" ends the first major set of good songs on this album, because after that song comes "Peace & Quite", which is a relatively weak song in comparison with any of the others in this album.
Then comes "Streetlights", which, despite being a song about problems such as fear or boredom, makes us instantly forget the previous song.
"Holy Ghost" is another highlight of this disc, along with "Strangers". This song is a particularly puzzling, since it is very difficult to understand its meaning.
“The Power & The Glory", which at first glance may be construed to give a great song is actually very weak and I honestly can’t understand its inclusion on the album, as with "Peace & Quiet”.
"Bad Love" and "Come Down" close this album that doesn’t disappoint those who like the band, although it is understandable that falls a little short of expectations of some more demanding people.
7.5/10
